The Australian Government released the new Budget last week. For the global development sector it was some good news with more funding (though only a small immediate increase), a commitment to development of expertise within DFAT and long term commitments to grow the development budget further. But, ODA still remains well below historic levels, and as a percentage of GNI it remains in decline.
