AusDevPortal launches to bring more transparency to Australian Aid

At the opening of the Australasian Aid Conference at ANU this week, Australia’s Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Pat Conroy, unveiled the AusDev Portal—a new online platform designed to enhance transparency in Australia’s international development efforts.

Conroy also announced that Australia would resume reporting to the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI), reaffirming the government’s commitment to global best practices in aid transparency.

About the AusDev Portal

The AusDev Portal consolidates data on Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects, finances, and performance into a single, publicly accessible platform. It enables users—ranging from students and researchers to NGOs and partner governments—to explore Australia’s development commitments and monitor how these efforts are being evaluated and delivered.

The portal’s development was informed by extensive consultations with partner governments, NGOs, and the broader development sector. This collaborative approach ensures that the platform meets the needs of diverse stakeholders while fostering accountability and mutual trust.

By making ODA data more accessible, the AusDev Portal is expected to support improved analysis, learning, and policy-making across the sector.

A Renewed Commitment to Aid Transparency

The decision to resume reporting to the IATI brings Australia back into alignment with international standards for aid transparency. This step not only demonstrates the government’s focus on accountability but also positions Australia as a leader in promoting global development effectiveness.

IATI reporting allows stakeholders to track aid flows, identify overlaps or gaps, and ensure that funding reaches those most in need.
